You made my Day!

Had such a good weekend this past weekend. I went and visited my family in southern Maryland and got to share in a very special day with Nan and Pop (my sister-in-law's grandparents) as the celebrated their 50th wedding Anniversary. Unfortunetly it went by way too fast and back to Baltimore I am.

Today I had a doctors appointment (doing the five year plan)...haha and when I got back to work I had the best email waiting for me that any Mommy would love to get. It was from Nick and it said:

NEW SCHEDULE FOR THE BABY; U HAVE MON AND TUES NIGHTS, I HAVE WED AND THURS. WE WILL ALTERNATE FRI SAT AND SUN… I.E. I TAKE FRI, U HAVE SAT, I HAVE SUN, AND THEN THE FOLLOWIN WEEKEND U HAVE FRI AND SUN AND I HAVE SAT

I was so happy! It made my day!! I was in such a bad mood last week because I felt like he never wanted to help out with the baby and if I asked him to he would always get an attitude. I wrote him a long email explaining how I felt and that I really needed him his help because I can't do it all on my own. It feels so good to know that he appreciates me and the way I feel. We are a family even though we aren't married and I feel that it takes both parents to raise good children. I am willing to help him and and do things for him while he finishes up school but on nights that he doesn't have class, I expect him to be Daddy and do things Daddy's should do. So needless to say I am having a very good day and am very excited that he has come around to helping me out. I love you Babe!!

The hardest part of being a Mommy...

I got a call yesterday from Nick's cousin Becky, who is watching Landon for us this week, to say that my little guy wasn't feeling well. I had noticed he was a little congested the past couple days but I figured it would just go away on it's own. Unfortunately, it has gotten worse. That poor little guy can't even keep his ninny in his mouth because he can hardly breath. So I did what any first time Mommy would do...called the doctor. Well that was a big waste of time!! They said to run a vaporizer, which I did last night, and to put saline drops up his nose. Ok so has anyone ever actually tried putting saline drops up an infants nose?! He hated it! I felt horrible!! Needless to say I only did it once and that was the end of that.

I have come to realize that the hardest part of being a Mommy is your baby being sick and you can't do anything to help them because it just has to "run it's course." I feel so bad for him. I just want to make it all better and I can't. He woke up like four times last night crying and all I could do was comfort him until he fell back asleep. The worst part is that he didn't sound any better this morning and I had to leave him to go to work. It's so hard to sit here and go about my work day when I know he's home not feeling well and needing his Mommy. Poor little guy...

St. Patrick's Day

As far as today's post goes, I just wanted to take the time to remember someone very special in our family who had to leave us way too young. Chandler loved John Deer tractors and his Mommy very much.

Happy Birthday Chandler, we miss you buddy!!

So what's so cool about this blog thing?

So...I was nicely encouraged to start a blog by my wonder and beautiful sister-in-law, Jennifer. I really hesitated to do one because I didn't know if I really wanted to keep up with it and didn't know if I would always have something interesting to write. But after many days of contemplating, I decided why the heck not. So here it goes.

First of all I guess I'll tell you a little bit about myself. I am 22 years old and work for an attorney in Cockeysville, MD. I have a degree from Frostburg State University in Liberal Arts with a concentration in dance. I live with my boyfriend, Nick, who I met back in September 2005 while going to school at Frostburg. Nick was a Finance major and Accounting minor and is now pursuing his MBA in Finance which he will graduate with in May of this year. We have been through a lot these past few years and through it all I can truly say he is the love of my life and my best friend. Ok so that's enough about me...now for the reason I decided to do this blog...

LANDON THOMAS CONLEY

This is Nick and I's 2 month old son and my reason for getting up each day. He is the best thing that has ever happened to me.

Landon was born on January 14, 2009 at 8:48 p.m. at St. Joseph's Hospital in Towson, MD. Labor wasn't actually that long, I did most of it at home so by the time I got to the hospital I was already 5cm dilated and fully effaced. After a few hours of laying in a hospital bed (feeling good thanks to that nice epidural) and only an hour of pushing...he was here and he was perfect! The shape of his head...his face...and his little fingers and toes were all perfect! I don't think any other time in my life past, present, or in the future would or will ever top that experience.

As far as this blog goes, I will be mostly writing about him and all the cute and new things he does. I hope to write daily, but if not, at least a few times a week. He's always doing something new so I can't really run out of things to write about.
